My Digitize Us project is a speculative assignment that looks at today’s Swedish passport, re-evaluating it and placing it in a digital context.

Digitalization of society means that it is only a matter of time before our passports and ID cards are digitalized. Curiosity as to what a passport could look like as well as thoughts about how our personal data can be handled to give greater security have been the driving forces behind this project. Working speculatively in this fashion is relevant in times of rapid change and digitalization and this creates new possibilities for studying the consequences of different alternatives. The project has resulted in an app whose aim is, in a secure manner, to identify the carrier but also to make life easier for the user, both in everyday situations and when travelling.
