REFLECT(IONS)

In the middle of Stockholm there is a beautiful but neglected place. A place that I have brought to recognition with a spatial treatment for different types of reflections.

I am fascinated and frequently inspired by the way in which reflective surfaces, shadows and linings create a dynamic as well as various spaces in the urban scene. In my project I have gone beyond the four walls of the room and created a site-specific artistic treatment for Evert Taube’s terrace on the island of Riddarholmen that was provided for recreation in the 1960s. After studying the movements of the sun, the water and the visitors I have designed various sculptural objects made of metal. Both individually and together they strengthen the qualities of the location by catching the light, reflecting their surroundings and creating various sorts of spaces that visitors can interact with.
