The feeling of rising out of the sea with sparkling drops of water falling off one’s back. A calm, comforting hand on the shoulder. The feeling of being strong and confident. A meditative movement that diminishes unease and restlessness.
Where is the boundary between jewellery and sculpture?
A presentation of how the feeling of wearing the jewellery can affect the wearers emotions. The purpose of the jewellery is to convey strength, calm and confidence. The emotion a color or shape expresses, the feeling of weight and lightness, the experience of cold and heat in a material and how different structures feels against the body have shaped the jewellery.
I aim to highlight the emotional value and importance of jewellery and to show how it can be an important part of yourself.
Emotion is a jewellery collection based on feelings and emotions, presented as wearable sculptures. The jewellery is designed for the body and becomes part of it. By sculpting and painting directly onto the body I found shapes and angles from which the jewellery took form. This method of working was an important aspect of the design process. The jewellery is made by hand in my own studio, using different materials and techniques in each piece.
