In collaboration with photographers and writers I have created a visual and linguistic whispering game that examines translations from pictures to words and from words to pictures.

Pictures and words communicate in different ways. While working or undertaking student assignments I have come upon many misunderstandings when pictures have been described in words and when words are to be translated into pictures. I am interested in these misunderstandings and the varying interpretations that arise from them.

My project is concerned with translating from words to pictures and from pictures to words. I have examined these translations using a visual and linguistic game of Chinese Whispers. I have collaborated with five photographers and four writers who have interpreted each other in a chain using pictures and words.
