The negotiating chamber as a symbol of change, improvement and reconciliation.

Our times are characterized by disputes about land, belonging, rights and power. Through meeting each other, conversing and creating understanding bloody conflicts can be ameliorated or even avoided. These meetings take place in a negotiating chamber on neutral ground. I believe in design as a tool for creating spaces that facilitate and change things. Rooms in which details, forms, objects and symbols are present that can calm the proceedings and create a sense of belonging and understanding, as well as maintaining or changing positions of power. Spaces that can assist discourse and generate security. By means of subtle design choices and symbols I believe that more peace agreements could be achieved thanks to careful design.
